Configurable Embedded Photo/Video Trap with Storing Data and Self Adaptation to Surroundings
Výborný, Filip ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design and construction of an embeded camera trap with a video recording and night vision support, which is able to self adapt to surroundings. The device is based on the Raspberry Pi platform and configurable by touch screen control with a user-friendly graphical interface. Also the web-application for easy remote administration was developed in Ruby On Rails framework. The camera trap was built and successfully tested under the real conditions. There are also typical application cases and requirements for camera trap construction described in this thesis.
Embedded Photo Trap with Storing Pictures on SD Card
Marek, Ondřej ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyzes approaches and methods used for creation of modern camera traps and their use cases. It also describes the design and implementation details of embedded camera trap prototype, which is an output of this thesis. It focuses mainly on ways of saving energy consumption, compressing stored data and innovative features in terms of improved lighting system and wireless communication. Finally, the conclusion of this thesis contains a discussion of the results obtained during evaluation of the prototype and compares its properties with the camera traps available on the market.
Identifikace železničních vozů na základě obrazové informace
ŠEPS, Pavel
This master's thesis focuses on the design and implementation of railway wagon indetification system based on the identifying information on the side of each wagon. It describes the search for the optimal image preprocessing, comparison of OCR services, search for the suitable technologies and evaluation of the quality of the finished application. Part of this thesis also describes existing solutions and the application development and functionality. To obtain the images of the wagons, a photo trap is designed and assembled, which is then located near the train track. A custom neural network was built to find the identifying information and a custom annotation application was developed to create the test and training sets. The final identification application then implements this neural network. It also uses Azure OCR services. It is designed to automate the manual process and is ready for use in real operation.
Spatial Activity of Raccoon Dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides) in the Mini Zoo Malá Chuchle
Bušová, Tereza ; Řezníček, Jan (advisor) ; Andreska, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with monitoring of two raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides) by camera traps at Prague minizoo Malá Chuchle in the period from February to May 2016. Activity and behaviour of both raccoon dogs is presented by charts and diagraphs for better understanding. Overview of Canidae family, its description and area, is included in this thesis. KEYWORDS racoon dog, Nyctereutes procyonoides, activity, ethogramm, camera trap
Analýza chování prasete divokého na vnadištích
Pavelka, Martin
This bachelor thesis is dealing with the behaviour of wild boars on baiting places. The research was conducted on hunting areas in northern Moravia, district Bruntál. Not only in the chosen area, but in the whole Czech Republic is dealing with the problem of overpopulation of wild boars. The observation took place using trail cameras, which took photos of baiting places. On these places was scattered feed, which was weight before. Times of arrivals and the number of wild boars were found from trail camera photos. In the next step was calculated the average amount of feed, which can wild boar consume in one hour. From ascertained data was recommended maximum amount of feed, which will be enough for periodical arrivals of wild boar on baiting place and thus reduction of overpopulated wild boars.

Using phototraps to the counting of wildlife animals
Hnízdil, Aleš ; Ježek, Miloš (advisor) ; Peterka, Tomáš (referee)
The subject of my Bachelor Thesis was verification of wildlife census methods by using phototraps in region of Doupovské Mountains and Bohemian Forest. Many of the organizations that are involved in these methods should bring a solution of this problem. This topic is discussed in management of wild animals for more than 40 years. This thesis should help to look at the wild animals monitoring from a different point of view. For this research were used 21 phototraps and evaluated 20 106 pictures. Information were processed in MS Excel. The data build a basis for animals density evaluation. Results show the adequate number of phototraps in the area in duration of 6 weeks brings more significant results.
Determination of family size of beavers by camera-traps
Pivrnec, Ondřej ; Vorel, Aleš (advisor) ; Lenka, Lenka (referee)
This diploma thesis concerns the methodology and subsequent analysis of the quantity of European beaver (Castor fiber) inside a beaver family. These data were collected by using camera-traps. Collection was conducted from August 2015 to August 2016 in two areas. The first area was the Czech forest and the second area was Šumava. In these areas is a different degree of saturation of the beaver population. The main objective of this study was to estimate the average size of a beaver family in two model areas using camera-traps. Suitable areas were Czech Forest and Šumava. Secondary objective was to design and test methodology and application of the camera-traps and design a way to evaluate data from the captured images.
Monitoring of raccoon dog aktivity in Opava
Staněk, Petr ; Kušta, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ježek, Miloš (referee)
This work deals with invasive predator racoon dog (Nyctereutes procyonoides). It is a comprehensive work consisting of general information about its history and later spread to the whole Word, etology and biology as information collected on the basis of thousands of images and hundreds of videos from scout camera located close to natural burrow at Opava in the hunting district hunting club in Hlavnice. The emphasis here is primarily on the course of the day and night activities throughout the year, food preferences, coexistence with other kinds of beasts and ways of dealing with stressful situations.
